This is my second pair of 996v2 in 11 2E. Fit is good both in length and in the toebox; feel light on the feet when moving. (I had sent my previous pair (orange) for New Balance credit under out sole warranty. That got me 996v3.)I am a right handed player; my right side is bit more developed than the left side. Sometimes while moving, inside edge of the collar of the right shoe (on the inside) pushes against top of the ankle (meeting at the foot). The pressure is relived temporarily if I yank up the tongue.Of course, the plastic cage around the forefoot had cracked on earlier pair, so will on this one. Other cosmetic/quality issue with the previous pair was that ankle collar on the outside edge near the last eyelet had developed a hole and inside padding was in the clear. Let's see if this one also develops that.I have bought probably 5 pairs of New Balance shoes in the recent years and most of them have been the minimus shoes, which are designed to be a wider cut than a typical shoe, very light weight and great for running and cross training. so this is what I am comparing it to.... When I bought these shoes I needed something for playing tennis and possibly some other court activities. They were a very snug fit as soon as I put them on, and I do have a narrow foot. I believe they will stretch a little, so I plan to keep them. But if you are looking for a shoe I probably would not buy this model online again as it is a different feel then most other shoes I have tried and purchased in the past.Great looking shoes and pretty comfortable, but a little narrow through the toe. More so than expected, and I have a fairly narrow foot. I would recommend ordering these in the E width if available. I originally ordered them in the standard D width and had to exchange for the E. I really like the look and outer material on these shoes though. 5/5 for style in my opinion, and overall, a comfortable, lightweight, and stable tennis shoe.I ordered these shoes and I liked the style and how they looked. Unfortunately I ordered my normal size and they are narrow and did not fit me well so I had to return them. I normally wear a size 11 US but maybe a 11.5 would of been better. I returned them and decided to get a different pair of shoes. If you have a wide foot you might not want order these. If you do order them. I would recommend maybe a half size bigger. My only complaint is the top of the toe box was tight and I was concerned they wouldn't work out. However aftera short break in period they are fine. The tightness is due to the full plastic rubbery material covering the toe. Stretchesout but not so good out of the box. I still liked the MC851 better than the last two editions. They do look good.Nice look, weight, and price...but WAY too narrow. I even checked them against a pair of D width adidas (which run narrow), and they were the same. That being said; they look great and feel very light. If you have regular width feet, buy the 2e. If you have 2e feet, stay away!Love new balance for the EE-width shoes. They work well, fit fine, feel like they'll last forever - the entire exterior is made out of a kind of rubberized material that seems like it'll survive a good year of non-stop toe-dragging.Too stiff. Stiff and no ankle support do not mix well. The last or toe box is way to narrow. I am 10.5EEus and ordered 11.5 because of the data I gave the fit finder calculator. This size guide worked in the past on my winter new balance but wasn't even close on this model. It's a very cool shoe if you have narrow feet, which I don't. Do not order if you have wide feet. I'm sure the things would break in fine over time and become less rigid with use. Good weight and nice traction. Wish I had euro size feet. TippTop
